LBI Fishing Report 6/25/26
Summer has officially arrived on Long Beach Island! Summer means busy beaches, lifeguards and beach badges. This week’s fishing report covers the transition from the outstanding spring striped bass and black drum run into the new summer fishing pattern. Water temperatures are hovering right around 60 degrees. The surf fishing action and production has slowed from the spring’s great action but there are still a few striped bass being caught. In the ocean there are more and improving fluke fishing reports from the reefs and wrecks. Bluefish are in the bay and inlet. Sharks and rays moving into the local waters a week or so back and more taking up their summer residence in the local waters. These can be a nuisance bycatch but also can be fun game if approached properly with knowledge of the laws. There is an upcoming NJ Fisheries meeting July 9th where shark fishing will be discussed. As always… Stop by Fisherman’s Headquarters for the latest bait, tackle and local fishing information.
