Topwater Bass Fishing On Lake Saint Clair May 2022

An outing that consisted of topwater and a creature bait mix turned into me focusing on topwater strikes with toad lures. I began the day with the whopper plopper, found success and threw the ZMan GOAT Toadz for a bit. Once the topwater bite slowed down, I switched to the Googan Bandito Bug and caught some really nice largemouth. All of that footage will come later, because what happened next was awesome!

As I was heading back to shore on the UltraSkiff, I decided to change back to the topwater toad bite because the winds had really picked up with a storm front moving in and the barometric pressure had dropped. Between the Strike King Rage Toad and the Googan Toad, the day ended with some great largemouth catches in shallow cover.
