Dropped 3 Species at the Kayak! Rough Day Fluke Fishing at Rye Beach

In this episode of SALTY SLAYER KAYAK FISHING, I head out to Rye Beach, NY, on the Salty Slayer (Native Slayer Propel Max 12.5) for a challenging late-summer morning on western Long Island Sound.

Fighting gusting winds and tough conditions, I managed to drop three different species right at the kayak—weakfish, fluke, and striped bass. Not my best day on the water, but with persistence and the right drift near Transport Rock, I landed a short fluke to avoid getting blanked! Jigging with split-tail and paddle-tail soft plastics proved to be the most effective strategy and presentation in these rough conditions.
