Our Nashville Pond Fishing Trip Got Cut Short…

We found a hidden pond tucked away in Shelby Park / Shelby Bottoms here in Nashville — right next to the pedestrian bridge — and had to see if it held any fish. This little pond looks JUICY. Super grown up around the edges, tucked away where it looks like nobody ever fishes it. The kind of spot every angler drives past and wonders about.

I linked up with Michael Finan to give it a shot. I threw a frog and a green Senko trying to pull something out of the slop, and Michael worked a small popper across the surface. We only got about 20–30 minutes in before a storm rolled through and shut us down.

No fish, no signs of life on this one — but that’s fishing. Sometimes the juicy-looking spot doesn’t pan out, and honestly that’s half the fun of exploring new water. We’ll be back to give this pond a real shot when the weather cooperates.
