Summer bass fishing can be challenging, but choosing the right bait and knowing how to fish it can make all the difference.

In this video, I break down my Top 5 Summer Bass Baits and explain how I use each one to target bass during the warmer months. I go into detail about when to use them, where to fish them, and what makes each bait effective.

My Top 5 Summer Bass Baits:

#1 Texas Rig – One of the most versatile bass fishing techniques. Great around cover, structure, vegetation, and areas where bass are holding tight.

#2 Chatterbait – An excellent search bait for covering water and triggering reaction strikes, especially around grass and shallow cover.

#3 Crankbaits – Great for covering water and targeting bass at different depths. Matching your crankbait to the depth you’re fishing can be extremely important during summer.

#4 Jigs & Jigs With Soft Plastics – A great choice when bass are relating to structure, cover, or deeper water. Jigs can be extremely effective when you slow down and work them properly.

#5 Topwater Baits – Specifically topwater frogs and Zara Spooks. When bass are feeding near the surface, these baits can create some of the most exciting strikes of the summer.

The goal is to understand what the bass are doing and choose a presentation that fits the conditions. Water temperature, depth, cover, weather, and bass behavior all play a role in deciding what to throw.

Hopefully this video gives you some new ideas for your summer bass fishing and helps you put more fish in the boat.
