Montauk Fluke Limit with a Siesta in Between!

So a strange phenomenon has occurred on my most recent July ocean fluke trips. Each of my last 4 trips has started off with a bang with multiple keepers coming over the deck. The clients are excited, I’m excited, heck, even Skinner gets excited. But then, like millions of citizens of Spain, Portugal, France, Greece and Italy, the whole fluke bite shuts down til the afternoon. I swear, it’s like the fluke take a siesta.

On this date, with Skinner and my clients Vera and her just turned 50 years old husband James (this was James’ birthday gift from Vera), we were fortunate that after their 3 plus hour slumber, the fluke bite turned on at the end of the day and we were able to get our limit.
