LATE Summer Bass Fishing SUCKS without THESE 3 Rigs

Late summer bass fishing can flat-out SUCK.

The water is hot, the sun is brutal, and largemouth bass aren’t always interested in chasing everything that swims past them. But they still have to eat — and you don’t need 20 different baits to catch them.

In this video, I’m breaking down 3 finesse rigs I trust for late summer bass fishing when the heat has both the bass AND the fisherman struggling:

Drop Shot Rig — One of my absolute favorites paired with a Roboworm, especially the People’s Worm color. It’s subtle, easy to keep in the strike zone, and deadly when bass aren’t willing to chase.

Ned Rig — Small profile. Easy meal. I’ll fish everything from a Z-Man TRD to small craws and urchin-style baits when I’m looking for that easy late-summer bite.

Shaky Head — A small finesse worm on a light presentation is about as simple as bass fishing gets — and sometimes simple is exactly what these heat-stressed fish want.

But finding late-summer bass isn’t just about the bait.

Think BAITFISH. SHADE. OXYGEN.

I’m still targeting shallow water, especially during those early low-light hours. Look for healthy grass, shade, active baitfish and areas holding better-quality water. Get there EARLY before that summer sun starts cooking everything in sight.

And don’t forget about yourself.

Fish early. Take breaks. Bring plenty of water. Know when it’s time to call it.

HYDRATE FOR LIFE!

The dog days won’t last forever. Fall bass fishing is getting closer every single day — we just have to survive late summer first.

If you’re grinding through the summer heat and still chasing largemouth bass, drop a comment and let me know what rig has been getting you bit.
