Insane Smallmouth Sunset Bite on the Delaware River

Amy and I hit the Delaware River for an evening of smallmouth bass fishing, and the sunset bite absolutely delivered!

As the sun started dropping, the smallmouth really turned on and we ended up catching a TON of fish before dark. I was able to put together a strong bite using a jerkbait and topwater, with some aggressive strikes that made for an awesome evening on the river.

There’s nothing better than fishing the Delaware River at sunset when the smallmouth are feeding. Great scenery, plenty of fish, and some explosive topwater action made this one of those trips you just don’t want to end.
