I was back at Devils Lake in Lincoln City, Oregon, hoping to finally get some redemption—but this lake had other ideas!

Joined by Mitch Weigel, we hit the water on a warm day in the mid-60s with a light breeze, expecting the bass bite to improve. The action was there, but I just couldn’t capitalize. I finished the day going 2-for-5, including two heartbreaking break-offs that could have completely changed the outcome.

Some lakes just seem to have your number, and right now Devils Lake is definitely mine. Even with missed fish and frustrating moments, every trip teaches something new, and I’ll be back looking for redemption once again.
