Extreme July Heat! π‘οΈ Gila River Outlaws Teams Derby – Flipping a Curly Tail Worm Saved the Day!
The Arizona summer showed no mercy during this Gila River Outlaws Teams Derby. With temperatures climbing into the triple digits before 10:00 AM, this tournament became a battle of endurance as much as fishing.
I started the morning hoping for a strong frog bite, but the bass had other plans. After making the adjustment, a flipping curly tail worm turned the day around, helping me catch over 9 bass. Unfortunately, the five heaviest fish only totaled 6.7 pounds, leaving me well behind the winning bag.

Some days it’s not about finding fishβit’s about finding the right quality. Every tournament teaches another lesson, and every trip on the water is another blessing.
