I tested a secret new bait on Lake Havasu!

Today, we hit Lake Havasu to answer two important questions: Can this new swimbait withstand extreme abuse and, more importantly, will it catch bass?

For the past several months, I’ve been quietly working on a project I haven’t shared much about. Designing my own swimbait has been a lifelong goal, but I knew creating the right bait would require countless prototypes, adjustments, and hours of testing. On Lake Havasu, I finally got to see that hard work begin to pay off!

Why design another swimbait?

After fishing countless swimbaits over the years, I kept running into the same problems: poor weedless performance, soft plastics that ripped after minimal use, narrow retrieve-speed windows, and designs that forced me to compromise how and where I fished.

My goal is to solve those problems by creating a durable, versatile, and weedless swimbait that everyday weekend anglers can fish confidently, but that tournament anglers can also trust when a winning fish is on the line.

This trip was the bait’s biggest test yet. Would months of work result in something truly different, or would it suffer from the same flaws as so many other swimbaits?

Follow along as I put this prototype through some serious abuse and test it against the Lake Havasu bass. The results pleasantly surprised me!
