Rocky Fork Kayak Bass Fishing Tournament (plus Hobie Compass Demo + Newport NK180 motor)

I was pretty excited to fish a tournament after months off, but I forgot my measuring board and didn’t realize it until everyone was already fishing so no one was around the cars to ask to borrow a spare.

But that’s okay because I had an awesome demo Hobie Compass with a Newport NK180 motor from Strictly Sail & Kayak Cincinnati, so I zoomed around the lake fishing a little but mostly playing with the Compass and the motor while looking for kayak competitors to snap a photo for Cincinnati Kayak Fishing social media.

Rocky Fork lake might have been named for all the boat wakes that rocked my kayak! But the Hobie Compass handled it all with ease and the Newport motor was so fun cruising the Compass at around 5mph so I covered 12 miles effortlessly

Thanks to those whom follow my fishing adventures! This season has been different but different isn’t bad and it has been a great learning year and hopefully will make me a better angler for next season.

I’ll keep fishing until the water freezes so I’m not done yet but my attempt at a tournament season has concluded.
