The ONLY Lure you Need to Catch Bass in August
The urchin bait, Coike and fuzzy bait trend has exploded in bass fishing, so I took one to Florida in August—one of the toughest months of the year—to see if the viral lure would still catch largemouth bass in hot summer conditions. In this video, I break down my modified urchin rig, hook and weight setup, then test different sizes, colors and retrieves on schooling bass, shallow grass and open-water fish. The biggest adjustment was fishing the bait more like a fluke or jerkbait by twitching and burning it around active bass, along with using gold, white and shad-style colors to match Florida forage. We caught numbers on the smaller 19mm bait before upsizing and finding a much better fish shallow, proving there are several ways tournament anglers and everyday fishermen can use these viral TPE baits during tough summer bass fishing.
