BREAKING: MLF Disqualifies Chad Mrazek After Investigation

A tip. A public records request. An investigation. An official decision.

After receiving information about possible fishing license violations during the Major League Fishing Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit event on Lake Champlain, I chose not to report the rumor. Instead, I began an investigation.

That investigation included obtaining official Vermont Fish & Wildlife records through a lawful public records request, verifying information with state officials, seeking comment from the angler involved before publication, and continuing to investigate as additional questions arose.

Major League Fishing then conducted an independent investigation of its own.

The result: Chad Mrazek was disqualified from Day One of competition, lost a $10,000 payout, and, following further review, also lost his qualification for the championship.

In this video, I walk through the entire chronology—from the original tip, to the public records request, to my interaction with Tournament Director Kevin Hunt, the additional fact-checking that followed, and ultimately the decision reached by Major League Fishing.
