Join me for an incredible day of pre-fishing on one of my favorite lakes in the Adirondacks—Paradox Lake!

With grass, submerged timber, offshore rock, and deep ledges, Paradox Lake offers anglers an incredible variety of ways to catch bass. I headed out to develop a pattern and build a game plan for the upcoming Adirondack KBF 3 Sisters Tournament, where anglers can choose to fish Paradox Lake, Eagle Lake, or Putnam Pond.

During this pre-fishing trip, I caught bass using a variety of techniques, including flipping a jig, fishing a drop shot, and forward-facing sonar. While I was able to catch fish in several different ways, the biggest largemouth bass seemed to be closely related to grass.

The patterns I was able to develop produced the biggest one-day bag of the season for me—over 96 inches! These are the kinds of days kayak anglers dream about, and figuring out multiple productive patterns gave me a ton of confidence heading into the tournament.
