catching largemouth bass next to the ocean (in South Africa 🇿🇦)

I headed out with a friend for a day of fishing around Bazley Beach on the KZN South Coast, and it turned into a session I definitely wasn’t expecting.

We started off fishing the ocean, but after things slowed down, we decided to walk over to a nearby river. I’d heard that largemouth bass had been caught there before, even though it’s right next to the ocean, so I had to see if it was true.

Safe to say, I wasn’t disappointed.

After exploring the river and putting the ultralight setup to work, we managed to find some beautiful largemouth bass and had an awesome time on the water. It just goes to show that you never know what you’re going to find if you’re willing to explore somewhere new.
