I headed out to fish at the flooded area below the eastside spillway of Pensacola dam to put my new rod and reel to the test, and the action didn’t disappoint! The water was muddy, the current was moving, the summer heat was brutal and the fish were feeding.

Most anglers aren’t excited about catching freshwater drum, but these fish put up an incredible fight and kept the rod bent. On top of that, I found some hungry white bass mixed in, making for an action-packed day on the water!
