LBI Fishing Report 11/4/26
The November striped bass run is ON along Long Beach Island! Big striped bass in the 40-inch class and larger are feeding on bunker schools along LBI and Island Beach State Park. The first several days of November delivered outstanding fall fishing, with quality bass caught from both boats and the surf. In this November 4 fishing report, I share firsthand observations, bait locations, successful lures and techniques, along with updates on Barnegat Bay striped bass and Barnegat Inlet tautog fishing.
**UPDATE: Saturday, November 7: What a difference a couple of days makes! Friday’s windy, soaking southerly storm disrupted the bite and early reports today (Saturday) have been slow. There’s a southeast swell in the water, and bunker schools have shifted a little offshore, with significant concentrations reported in approximately 30 feet of water from Harvey Cedars to Ship Bottom. But there’s reason for optimism! West winds are in the forecast, plenty of bait remains in the area, and water temperatures are still running 58–60°F. Historically, November is prime time for LBI striped bass fishing, especially as water temperatures drop into the mid-50s. West is best! Stay tuned for the next chapter of the fall run.
