Greg and I venture out after a cold night in June to see how the river was fishing. Brown Drakes were around and blind fishing a brown drake dry fly accounted for a few fish. The key to success this day was fishing a wet skunk once the water temps started to turn up. I share some strategies on how to have a successful day after an unseasonably cold night.

Hello, I’m Alex Lafkas and this channel is dedicated to making you a better fisherman. Both fly fishing and gear fishing. As an angler, my goal has always been to get the most out of the fish I’m targeting which doesn’t always mean catching the most. Smallmouth bass, musky and trout are the main species I focus on. Included in my channel are fishing trips, educational videos and fly tying videos. I have been a guide for over 20 years with a primary focus on fly-fishing for trout but have always enjoyed fishing the different lakes in Northern Michigan. From small ponds to big blue water fisheries.
