June Shallow Water Bass Fishing on Clark’s Hill Lake!

We got an early start this morning and headed out for some June bass fishing on Clark’s Hill Lake. Instead of joining the offshore crowd, we decided to focus on bass that were still holding shallow around docks, laydowns, and shoreline cover.

The bite started off slow, and we had to work for every fish, but by staying committed to our pattern and covering water, we were able to put a few bass in the boat. Many anglers move offshore this time of year, but there are always some fish that remain shallow, especially around wood cover, shade, and docks that provide protection and feeding opportunities.

Our most productive bait of the day was the Zoom Trick Worm 6.5″ in Black and Green Pumpkin Green Flake. A subtle finesse presentation around shallow cover proved to be the key to getting these bass to commit. Sometimes slowing down and making multiple casts to high-percentage targets can make all the difference when the bite gets tough.

While it wasn’t a numbers day, it was another great opportunity to learn more about the seasonal patterns these fish are using and enjoy time on the water doing what we love.
