4 BEST Bass Fishing Baits for September | Stop Struggling This Fall

September can be one of the toughest months to consistently catch largemouth bass because the fish are starting to transition and can be scattered from shallow water to deeper grass.

In this video, I break down my top 4 bass fishing baits for September and when I like to throw each one.

I’ll start the morning with a popper while the bluegill are still shallow and active. As the sun gets higher and the bass begin moving deeper, I’ll switch to a swim jig to cover water around grass and other cover.

I’ll also keep a spinnerbait ready when I need to cover water and trigger reaction bites, especially around grass edges and active baitfish.

Finally, I’ll throw the Copper Red Baits sinking jerkbait when I need to reach deeper submerged grass. Because it sinks, I can count it down to the top of the grass and work the bait right through the strike zone instead of staying too high in the water column.

These four baits give me options from early morning shallow water all the way out to deeper September bass.

Which bait would you start with in September? Drop it in the comments.
