Today we put up YUM vs Powerbait in this wacky rig bass fishing comparison. Will the Powerbait catch 45% more bass? I call BS. During slow fishing conditions, I wan’t all of the advantages I can find. However this video shows that promises on the package are very often dishonest and have little to do with practical fishing. I had more bites, and more catches on the YUM Dinger today! I fished the same location back to back and caught a bass on the second pass using the Yum. Maybe the powerbait catches 45% more fish under certain scientific conditions, but today… it couldn’t even get a bite.

My last time out I hooked a damned umbrella that was opened up on the bottom! I thought I had a monster! Broke my line pulling it in, broke off another lure trying to get it the rest of the way in. By then the waves had washed it in closer to shore and I reached out to grab it and retrieve my lures and I slipped off of the rock I was on and ended up in the lake! Memorable day, to say the least!

I had my own powerbait vs Yum dinger competition the other day. Had them both on a drop shot. The yum dinger won 5 fish to none.

I once called Berkeley when almost entire spool of their flouro was dinged and frayed ( not sure that's the right word). It snapped over and over. The "customer service representative" said "yeah we know there's an issue but we are big enough that your opinion doesn't matter" and then hung up on me. I'll never buy anything Berkeley ever again

Good to see another video. I haven't been able to find any of those hooks at the Walmarts near me. Your stores seem to have a better selection of fishing items.
I avoid the hyped plastics like 'Power Bait'. Yum, Zoom, and Missile Baits are pretty much all I use. For Panfish, I like Yum Grubs, Panfish Assassins and Bobby Garland.
Tough summer fishing. Yesterday I fished hours for one dink (caught him on a Yum Dinger as well).
That fish is going to have a rough day when he tries to pass that undigested yumdinger.
Dude I went out today and caught one on Texas rig then nothing for a while so I was like I’m switching to a wacky rig which Ive never used before. Tied on a circle hook with a green pumpkin Senko and fished the same spot and caught 9 more lol… I fished it really really slow. Was awesome especially since it was the first time doing wacky. Never have I caught that many bass in one day. Just regular sizes one was bigger 2.5 pounds which is a PB for me :). Thanks for the videos Alex. 🎣
The best thing about your videos Alex is they are totally real, if you break off or catch a limb you share. I always wondered why some of these other videos I see they always catch and never backlash or break off.
All I throw is yum dingers.. watermelon seed is the best for me
I haven't had much luck either using Powerbait, I have done better using the original Senko
Love the channel Alex. The Summer bite is tough I feel your pain. I fish a small Drainage canal (ditch basically) behind my house maybe 12 ft. wide here in South Louisiana. When I first started fishing this location I never thought there would be fish in it but I catch them like crazy and nice ones sometimes. Weird because I been catching Bass in the canal but when I go to an actual Bayou where you would think the fish are I can't catch anything.
Never had any luck with powerbait lures those lures are made to attract fisherman not fish
An update on this powerbait max scent: I was at the store today and saw the price has increases to almost 7 bucks for a pack of them. The Yum brand plastics were just 2.50 a pack. For the price I'd still use them but I'd certainly invest in more Yum brand ones as well, since I get get nearly 3 of them for the same price as 1 Powerbait in the purple package!
Buy Yum all the time. They do the job!
