I jig 45 minutes with a black culprit and caught a dozen bass all over 3.5 Shakespeare ugly stik. Actually the older ones that are only 20 bucks back in the 90s . Stilll works great .
Another Megabass ad.
“Bass fishing is becoming an elitist sport.” Your quote. Pushin a $500 rod.
Obviously you don’t think your viewers are very smart.
Randy, the word you wanted is ergonomic.
Doing rod and reel commercials is not going to help 99% of your viewership or grow your channel… Furthermore, is there any real evidence to show that a $500 rod catches more and better fish than a $100+ rod?? What's happening at the Butt end of a rod far outweighs any consideration of the cost…
WHAT ? Throw Jerk Baits on SPINNING GEAR.
I haven’t watched yet; is it a $700 Megabass by any chance?
Aaron Martin hooked me up with Megabass at ICast in 2015. I luv my Dobyns Randy McAby 8’ crankin rods along with 7’ 11” MB Launcher for 20’ plus for plugz. Absolutely a wicked stick Randy for it’s shorter butt length & 16’ on down to shallow square bills.

Blank made in China?
I fish all my topwater baits on a medium heavy with #50 briad. I will use a #15 Trilene Big Game leader about 12 inches long on prop baits and Pop R's. I had zero issues.
You should try Dobyns rods
I’ll be switching all my rods to Megabass after this tournament season. I’ll have ti stick with the levante line but I’d love to get a destroyer jig rod at some point.
I agree that your rod is not the place to skimp on.I have G Loomis rods that are 25 years old. My fishing partner had a friend of his make some rods for us with Loomis blanks. When someone picks up one of my rods they Always comment on how light and comfortable they are. If you know someone like EricK_69 below who can build you one even better!
Just bought a g-loomis 812s jerk rod I love it 400 bucks later
Can you tell us a rod that is not as expensive?
Great rod and actually worth the money. For the 110jr, try the P5 Z-Crank Elseil. Perfect rod. The tip recovers quickly and has that pop you need for jerkbaits.
High end rods do not make you a better fisherman or does it help you catch more fish, that’s totally false, yes there are benefits to the high end rods but a expensive rod won’t catch you anymore fish.
I'm sure that's a fantastic rod. But I can't afford it.
In the Fall of 2023 I started using the new Ugly Stik Carbon Inshore series rods. They're not composite like the old ones, they're all graphite. They have fast actions that cast a long way and they're sensitive. I have 4 different ones with different actions and in my opinion they're hard to beat for $99. They just put out a couple 7'6" models and I can't wait to try the medium action I just got. The rest of mine are 7', in medium light, medium and medium heavy. I guess they're intended for saltwater but I would use them for bass. They're the best rods I've used for soft plastics and jig heads. And I got 5 for the price of the Megabass rod. I'm sure it's nicer. If I was a tournament guy I could justify it. But I can't in my situation.
Tactical Bassin just did this rod on his jerk bait video. Copying
Nice rod for sure, luckily my gloomis glx collection has been great.
Er go mon ic ally….Great looking rod Randy. Thanks as always..The best of the best.
I disagree. Building my own rods brings the fun up to the next level.
Super fine Rod , I do like a shorter rear handle length
