If nothing else ban FFS in High School and College Bass tournaments. Make em learn how the fundamentals of bass fishing.

All of the pro fisherman have been fishing for many years, most fishing before they could walk. Even the younger guys have 15 to 20 years of experience, worked hard to qualify, have been co anglers, honed their casting and fishing craft. Probably learned decades worth of knowledge by watching youtubes like Randy. He has made these young anglers great by 15 or 20 years old thtough his tips and tactics. Not one of them i have seen have been disrespectful, lazy, and to call them cheaters and spotlighters is completely against what a professional fisherman should be. Unless you have fished with them dont criticize anyone. All fish legal, ethical and if you cant see that you are narrow minded.

The "aging" anglers that accept and adapt to this new technology are not going to join this band of complainers. Reason… the sooner these anglers that did not adapt and find themselves and their sponsors on the way out… the better chance they have of requalify. Touring anglers have a unique bond… but they would rather see other anglers not re-quality then them not qualify. This is undisputable.
On another topic…. a lot of these anglers would not requalify for the trails they fished if the cut line was realistic like other sports. You can be in 70th in points, earned "0" checks all year, living below the poverty level and requalify for a professional sport where there are no guaranteed salaries of benefits? These Japanese anglers were fishing tournaments walking the banks in their homeland. They'll do just fine if FFS is removed. Can you imagine the out cry when that happens? And I believe it will at some point.
Love how the pros are saying it’s an educational tool. Yeah. When you realize how people are cheating to get ahead it is educational. No different than counting cards at a casino. It’s educational but it’s cheating

Someone should take a fake, motorized bass and anchor it on a thin line to the bottom. Then watch and laugh as guys come by one by one with FFS trying to catch it, each pitchin' a fit before giving it up. Now THAT would be some good FFS television.

I used to love the watch the Tournament Videos of several guys that they film during their tournament. Now I just can't. It's the same thing. Nothing informative their just looking at a screen and casting at a fish.
Have no interest in watching bass masters anymore, haven't for a long time. This is not fishing.

I don't even understand why this is a debate, it's so obviously unethical. Not that it's a healthy community, but in fly fishing we argue over using a 19 ft fluoro leader and lacquer covered jig being ethical. These guys are essentially hand feeding a bass from 60 ft away watching blips on a screen. No thanks, I'm not into E-Sports.

We have been having a local bass tny for the past 40 years. It’s a benefit tny. We live in a rural low income area. Some guys have put the forward sonar on their boats, to the financial detriment of their families. For what, a purse of either $1000 or less. It’s very much looked down and any kind of local prestige from winning does not exist. Now outside people make a circuit of fishing these benefit tournaments with an advantage which will ruin benefit tournaments for needy people.

Very proud of the youth today who have been fishing tournaments. The way they have been conducting themselves gives me hope for tomorrow. Wish the older people on this site would stop criticizing them and calling them names like cheaters, spoiled, entitled, among other things.
If ffs is legal then allow them to use aqua view. Same basic principle just a different image.

OMG! Another "veteran" angler that has not kept up with the times! Give me a break. These guys are fishing for 100K, not fun fishing. Livescope has been out for least 5-6 years- if the Elite veterans are the "best of the best", then they should have kept themselves on the cutting edge- heck, you are fishing for 100K- not some Tuesday nighter out of jon boats. Instead, most the old Elite guys ignored learning the new tech stuff, the young guys in the Opens did not. Now, to say the young guys are not skilled is a bunch of bunk- they can fish a jig, frog or spinnerbait just the same as any old pro. Instead, the younger guys figured out to avoid fishing "fishless water", which many of the old vets still do. Essentially, this actually exposed how old and stale many of the older Elite pros actually became. There will be guys so sour and resisting change they will actually retire rather than evolve with the sport. Far as states banning it- nope, won't happen. Almost every ice fisherman in WI now has livescope and more are purchased every day- and that is just ice fishing. Issue is, many of the older Elite pros have now become mediocre over night- this scares the hell out of them as many see their incomes slipping away at warp speed. Well, that is a personal problem, not a BASS problem. To block innovation "to preserve the integrity of the sport" is just code for "please ban it so I personally don't slip into fishing oblivion". So, if the older pros can not keep up with the changes in technology, that is on them- they are the ones who toted themselves as being "best of the best". Every technological advancement of all types has effected fishing- you don't get to cherry pick when one of them comes along that is really good. Otherwise, ban it all and go back to fishing out of canoes and row boats- every aspect of advancement had a marked effect. That would mean no more spot lock, no GPS with mapping, no other forms of sonar- including the flasher units. I used to like your stuff Randy, but you are just another old guy bitching life is not fair anymore and being set in your ways. Just another old guy saying- "back in the day….". Limit it to one unit per boat, but to ban it- that is life walking backwards.

You know bassmasters use to provide everyone with the exact same boat in you were only allowed 10 lbs of gear . How cool would that be in todays age!
