Winter time fishing for big Bass

Mid December is a great time for catching big bass on shiners in Headwaters lake in east central Florida near Palm Bay. Today I’ll rig with short shank circle hooks on both floats and free lines. I’ll add a 3/16 slip weight to a 20 # braid on a spinning rod for working the deeper 10-20 foot water with a free line shiner. It often catches the biggest bass of the day and today we took 10 bass in the 5 pound class and above to over 7 pounds!
