Winter Fishing from a Boat (Catching Largemouth Bass and White Bass)

Today we’re doing some winter fishing from a boat and we’re catching largemouth bass, white bass, and skipjack. Finding warm water in the winter can determine if you are going to catch anything or not. I tried fishing with crankbaits, spoons, even live worms. I caught more fish on the artificial lures than I did the live bait. The bigger fish came on the red eye shad, but all of the lures worked with some success. Hopefully you get a chance to fish from a boat in the winter. It can be challenging and fun at the same time.

  1. so is it common for people in your area to winterize your boat? I'm from midwest and most people usually put up their boats for winter and I do the same but would like to fish all year just didn't know if it was dangerous for the boat with water freezing in the motor and all

  2. Those skipjacks looks like shad from where I live. There’s a river they go to during spawning season and all you really need to catch them is a pink crappie jig head. They’re pretty fun to catch with ultralite gears. Also good striper bait
