Winter Bass Fishing on the Olifants River | Camping in the AlphaGO Cube

Winter bass fishing on the Olifants River is always an adventure!

Join us as we camp on the banks of one of South Africa’s most beautiful rivers, put the AlphaGO Cube tent through its paces, and chase hard-fighting river bass in winter. Along the way, I also share one of my favourite ways to rig a McArthy 5″ Tiddler —one of my go-to presentations for winter bass fishing.

There’s something special about waking up beside the river on a crisp winter morning. The coffee tastes better, the campfire burns a little longer, and every cast holds the promise of that next big bite. That’s exactly what this adventure is all about—escaping the rush of everyday life and sharing our passion for bass fishing, camping and the great outdoors.

This trip also marks the start of our AlphaGO Cube journey. This is not a paid review or sponsored video. We bought the tent ourselves because we wanted to see whether it lives up to its reputation. In this episode we show just how quick and easy it is to set up, and over the coming months we’ll continue putting it through its paces in different weather conditions and on different fishing adventures. You’ll get our honest thoughts every step of the way.

The Olifants River reminded us once again why it’s one of our favourite destinations. Winter bass fishing can be challenging, but that’s part of what makes it so rewarding. We also had a few memorable battles with some proper river dragons, proving that every trip has a story worth telling.

If you enjoy bass fishing, camping, outdoor adventures or simply spending time in nature, we hope you’ll enjoy coming along for the ride.
