Why You Aren’t Catching Bass When It's HOT (and How to Fix It)
Why does the bass bite seem to disappear once the sun gets high?
One of the biggest mistakes anglers make during hot summer days is continuing to fish the same shallow bank cover that produced early in the morning. Instead, I like to follow the sun by gradually moving away from the bank and targeting the next available cover, then moving even farther offshore as the day progresses.
In this video, I’ll show you exactly where I fish, the types of cover I look for, and the baits I trust when the weather gets hot. We cover isolated grass patches, lily pads, submerged grass beds, and the lures that consistently produce bass during the heat of summer.
Baits featured include:
• Berkley Swamp Lord Frog
• Megabass Giant Dog X
• Spro Aruku Shad Jr.
• Jackall TN70 Lipless Crankbait – The link to the TN 60 will bring you to the 70 size as well.
If you’re struggling to catch bass after the early morning bite fades, this approach can help you stay on fish throughout the day.
