When it comes to late winter and early spring, picking the right color for bass fishing can be challenging. The color Red will always be a top choice. I will explain why it is a great choice. The top choice for bass at that time of the year is crawdads. I will explain what crawdads are doing at that time of the year and the reasoning for the red color! I will also explain the red that is found on Shad that time of the year.

Very good
I always thought they turn red because of the water temp. the hotter the redder they get, just like when you boil them. lol.
No craws down in south jersey but red makes em crazy
Would this be the late winter season ? North Georgia. Lake Lanier. Could you throw a red color lure right now?
Any of y’all crawdad eating folks ever eat any green pumpkin colored crawfish before??? 😂
“Let me see if I can get the camera to focus.” Camera never focused. 😆 some good info though.
I've found that red works really well at night during may for largemouth and smallmouth down south.. the biggest bass of my life came on that bait that time of year and that time and I caught plenty more
Dude is all over the place. Hard to follow
I couldn't focus with that white slime on your lower lip
I've been bass fishing for 5 yrs or so never heard about red until now but it's great color for February and spring
Not buying it's from the mud
COTTONMOUTH
Thanks for the info about to go buy some red cranck baits
Hi David, I'm new to your channel and new to bass fishing. I was brought up catfishing and have always wanted to try bass fishing. I just turned 60 and have decided this was the time to start lol. I've been building up my gear and baits to get started as soon as it gets a little warmer lol. I'm in the West Texas area. Great video and can't wait to bing-watch your others lol !
Thanks so much for great explanations, so interesting👍
I swear every fisherman says something different. I always heard spring and fall but he's saying winter now SMFH
I tried the red thing last year….. nothing!
Awesome transition advise on color, especially when you have a buzz.😉👊🐟
Dude that is fire
Thanks so much for the explanation!! I’ve been really confused about when to throw red baits. Makes sense. Also the crawdad explanation helps me understand them better throughout the year
ever come o middlenevada?
What about using red soft plastics
Good info
Thanks David!! I appreciate the info!!!!!
If you believe these explanations for red, you smoke crack
Where are you at Mr. DUDLEY, just trying to put into context wjere you are typically fishing to know if its comparable to central NC
Attention to the details of the preferred forage for any particular season of the year is essential to being successful. Understanding and being able to mimic that on the water determines that success. You are spot on about the color red in the late winter early spring periods. Crayfish molt, and regardless of why they turn red, your advice is correct. I put the red up by mid April every year down here on the Big G.
OMG…the outro was cut off! Man is there a lot of “thumbs down.” People are cranky. I will never do a thumbs down…unless you tell me to. You are trying to help us. If you don’t agree say, “I don’t agree.” But thanks for the vid.
I've been throwing red for a month now…nuthin!
Red baits have nothing to do with the color of crawfish. Indiana doesnt have red crawfish, red dirt, ect. and we catch hundreds of bass on red baits in the spring!
Use red for Evey fish.
That's the dumbest shit I ever heard…let me ask u this why are they blue and green…..
What is your favorite color senko
