Long ago when I used to scuba dive in the crystal clear water of Florida’s springs, the colors of the fish was always real vibrant and clear with overhead sun and you were looking down into the depths with the sun behind you. But when you were swimming near the bottom and looking up towards the surface and sunlight, the colors went away and you could only see the black and white contrast profiles of fish above you. That is what I observed with my eyes. Who knows, the eyes of fish in their watery world might be hundreds of times more sensitive to colors than human eyes.
Some crayfish are blue I have seen 2 that was very bright blue they probably don't last long with bass around google images blue crawfish
Every fish I caught off a black and blue jig has always been bounced off something. Log, rock tree ect. And yes in dirty water.

Hold a jig up see it from.under neath below a lite source. It's just a silloet .unless u fish the new moon w total dark
Then I fish w rattles, and a kicking trailer,or add a blade from queen tackle. Or twin blades from decoy.
I've always been a GP guy but BB has been slowly making it's way up the ladder the last few years. I'll have to try the BB jig with a GP trailer.
My own personal experience is that a black and blue jig will catch bass anywhere.

I’ve seen situations particularly at night or low light times when bass would not bite black plastic worms but they would bite dark purple. I have no idea how they can tell the difference but sometimes they can. Just like deer see differently than we do, evidently it’s the same with fish.
Black and blue is my go to in west Tn !
