Who’s IN? Who’s Out? MLF Bass Pro Tour Format Change Top 35 Anglers!

In 2025, Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour is creating the “All-Star” lineup of anglers. The Top 35 Lifetime AOY anglers and 10 of the Top 10 AOY anglers from the 2024 season, who are not in the Top 35 will create 45 of the 50 Bass Pro Tour anglers competing in 2025. What if that were to happen in 2024? Who would be the anglers in the Top 35? Then Top 45? And which anglers need to make up some ground and have a good 2024 season to just complete in 2025 on the BPT. Will those anglers leave and fish another circuit? Or Opens or Invitationals? Or head off to the NPFL? Here’s a list of who is at what spot and who is looking in.

  1. That's sad for them, but that's life, it always changes for most ppl, some of those names are millionaires, they are probably just in it to win more or for their sponsors, but who is in for 2024, I tried to figure it out but come up with all of them! 🎣👍

  2. I get it us bass guys or girls say they living the good life…

well yep to fish for a living sounds good but yep a but

    1. away from home a ton ( well truck drivers away from home yea they make a lot more to)
    2. pay sucks and stress is to the max
    3. they work more than a normal job yes its fishing but it's work also
    4. time on water is huge in the sport and if u are not 6 to 7 days a week fishing or prep
you will not be at the top of the sport.

so yes bass fishing is fun when u don't have to depend on it for food are a home

i say this start a business and grow it so u can bass fish tour level. even that u have to have someone to pass on your duties while u gone fishing

    2.

  3. **??????***

    ok
    top 35 life time right
    and
    top 10 for 2024 right

    here the questions

    1. if top 35 is in top 10
do they go to 36 37 38 so on
    2.
    or do they go 11 12 13 14 of aoy 2024

    ???????????

  4. Oh my!!! Looks like there’s going to be a huge retirement party, some but most of them will fish the opens and try qualifying for the Elites!! Good luck with that, maybe two might make it back, it’s gonna take a few years for most and some want make it back at all Lol only chance they have is making FFS illegal just my two cents. They made this bed hard for themselves so now they must deal with it

  5. You made a mistake. Top 35 is right but then you have to look at AOY standing for 2023 in your scenario. And take the Top 10 anglers that are not already in the Lifetime AOY 35. Becker is in for winning AOY and there are some other Rookies and 2nd year guys that would make it. I think i had them going all the way to 2023 AOY #36 Cody Meyer.
I have ran the numbers just to see where personal friends are at in that ranking. Some are safe, some are on the bubble and some are out with only a top 10 saving them. But there may be a rule that they can drop their worst finish every 3 years. That isn't stated in the release, but its how one of my buds is ranked high than I have him in my spreadsheet.

  6. The bottom line is. Catch fish are take your ass home. You all have all that FFS, and all that other computer crap with that dumb ass tube thing yall put in the water are whatever it is. What the problem.

  7. I keep seeing this…" changes every year"? Ive been watching since its inception in 2012 and the formation of the BPT in 2014 ( also staying tuned to BASS ), but they hadn't made in a major changes since 2014. 2022 for the 23 season was the next major change. I dont know why everyone keeps saying that…smh
But regardless…EVERY industry right now is making dramatic changes and cutbacks within their respective organizations. Its an economic model, and if you watch financial markets like I do…the overall economy isn't looking good. Which will have financial impacts on ALL leagues. The changes being made, whether you like them or not is nothing more than strategic financial plan. Lowering outgoing costs, and retaining incoming monies is based on Equal Equilibrium models. Since every business right now are making changes, I would not be surprised if we see a few more in the next two or three years. And thats ok, a business model never stays the same. In order for any organization to make money, you have to invest money. The 50 angler field in 2025 will allow for that. And they most likely will reap the rewards. The Central focus on 50 hammers is easier to market than say 80 or more.
And considering that MLF ranked 2nd in sports live streaming in 2023, Its obvious they aren't hurting for money. If BASS doesn't do something wijth better streaming and coverage, they will feel the effects of that failure for sure.
just my 2 cents…..but regardless….2024 should be exciting.

side note: was confirmed through Andrew upshaw today that the controversy isn't over. BASS is also undergoing changes for opens! LOL

    ( oh the hypocrisy!!)

  8. The MINOR LEAGUE FISHING, tour is dying. Soon there will be nothing left. The cheating scandal that they swept under the rug, has come back to hurt the fisherman.. The Minor league has taken the advantage of their disaster by reducing the number of fishermen. They will also raise entry fees and reduce payouts in order too make more money for themselves.
