When big largemouth bass spawn, and why I don’t fish during the spawn! Hidden Valley Lake is in Lake County, CA, and it is my home lake. The lake was planted over 50 years ago with Florida strain largemouth bass, and the bass population is still in fine condition. I choose to leave these bass alone during the spawn and I have the rest of the year to catch bass.
