What is the WORST thing a bass fisherman or angler who cheats can do? If we take away the names in the game who have cheated, and just use the crimes they have committed as a professional bass cheater, what is the worst offense? Is it putting weights in fish? Is it storing fish in boxes and re-catching them? Is it changing measuring devices? What crime is the worst to commit as a professional angler?

Cheater is a cheater. They are all bad!
Well not mentioning anyone But I would say hidden live wells Growing bass in your own tank. Threatening people snagging them off beds. Messing with peoples trailers threating a minor would be a start
I agree with all that stated that a cheater is a cheater no matter what. But for what you’re asking I rated them as follows. 1. Weights 2. Totes 3. Transporting 4. Pilings 5. Snagging 6. Devices. Now as I stated earlier they are all cheating methods and appropriate actions must be taken, for those who are guilty of these atrocities within the fishing communities, whether a small club or large organization.
It's sad that we have any cheating in our sport but when you put money and pride on the line it's going to unfortunately happen. If I had to pick I would say stuffing a fish with weights is probably the worse but I would put tying one up and weighing it later is a close second. like many have said cheating is cheating and its all bad.
It’s all been going on forever. What has exacerbated is tournaments that allow “trailering”. My Lord.

Stringer/totes/transporting – because premeditated
Altering device can also be premeditated
Weights – probably going to kill fish. Can be done in heat of competiveness.
Snagging – done in heat of competiveness.
Hard to choose just one of those as the worst. Good question from @SOAngler.
Cheating is cheating not on is more excusable than another. So I can’t put those in order. Anyone caught cheating should have a lifetime ban from being able to purchase a fishing license ever again across the country in other words federal offense!
Hello Steve. Wow, that's a tough one. Greater or lesser cheating it is all the same in my mind.
But I will say the most common cheating you will see is weighing down fish. The second, in my opinion, is snagging and not just sight fishing but using treble hooks in an illegal manner.
But holding fish in some sort of box or tying them in place seam to be the most cruel manner to win a derby. Although there is not any nice way to cheat.

1. Cutting the tail and concealing it with your hand on a catch photo release tournament (happened in a Kayak Tournament)
2. Weights in fish
3. Transporting fish
4. Cages
5. Tying up fish
6. Snagging fish
7. Altering devices.
But in all actually they are all terrible I just rank the ones that do damage to the fish itself a little higher.

I say the worst is the weight stuffing, next is caging or staking fish, then transporting fish from another lake and then snagging fish. These are all so equally bad it is really hard to rank any over the others. A lot of people’s values aren’t the same these days as they were in the past! I guess now days if you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying!

It doesn't matter how you cheat…A cheater is a cheater in any way you look at it…But if I had to pick the worst way a person could cheat, is stuffing weights inside of a fish.
I dont see how I could order them by least to worse. The end result of all 6 if these is that the same. The anglers who did not cheat didn't get the win, and the trophy and all that comes with it.
