  1. I live in Florida and I fish three day a week and I have to say that you are absolutely spot on. Your video should be required watching for anyone who relocates to Florida and likes to fish for Bass.

  2. The biggest problem I see with folks coming down here to fish is they want to fish Okeechobee or Kissimmee with expectations of every flip setting the hook on a double digit.been fishing for Florida bass my whole life, been blessed to have landed 5 over 10lbs, not one of those fish were caught in one of the big lakes, small private, unmanaged retention ponds, that developers dug to make roads.its these places that hold the true giants, not over crowded, over fished over hyped water

  3. Nice presentation. I fished with a guide in December (Dora). We was catching fish on worms dragging the bottom. He then decided to go to another area for 'other' fish. NOTHING. Then he made a profound statement. "Never leave fish to find fish." My buddy landed an 8 pounder that day. Several in the 3-5 lb range were boated.

  4. Great video Nathan ! And it got a lot of attention too over 200 comments ! I’ll be going down February 1st -April 1st for the first time ever so this video is just what I need to try and pack !! Thanks !

  5. If you find hydrilla folks, I assure you there are bass there. Now they may not bite, but they are there. On overcast days and low pressure days, work the edges and where it is more sparse. Hydrilla is not as abundant as it once was due to the insane spraying that goes on down here. Spraying has ruined so many fisheries here that it is sad. Also, why he didn't mention this, but never come to Florida without having horny toads or frog baits. If you find grass of any kind, swim a horny toad over it and you will understand why. Horny toads or swimming frog baits are one of my go to's along with Senko style stick baits. Punching heavy hyacinth is also a must here. If you find hyacinth, (again hard to do sometimes due to the spraying) and it is mixed in with reeds and hydrilla, fish it with flipping techniques. Punch the thick stuff. Now, if it is a cloudy low pressure day, don't bother flipping or punching. Go with the lipless or spinnerbaits or other vertical presentations. I prefer spinner baits over chatterbaits as chatterbaits swim higher in the water column. But they work good when they are on that bite. Be prepared to catch mudfish. We have an abundance of them and they love spinnerbaits and lipless baits. Use a fish grabber to handle them. They roll like an Alligator and can tear up your baits. Chug bugs worked slow can produce awesome results but those pencil top water baits are hard to beat. Devils horse etc. In the winter I use lipless baits a lot. I have caught my 2 biggest bass on them here. Florida is the best place in the country for them. (Well compared to TX, GA, AR, TN, CO, NE, and KS, places I have fished). Just wanted to add that little bit to your otherwise good video.

  6. Thanks for the info. I want to start fishing with my son. We won't have access to a boat or anything. Does the advice change for those fishing from shore?

  7. Tanic Tea! That's the perfect analogy. I been fishing Florida for about 15 years now. Never understood the Watermelon colors,, seemed to dark. Thanks. Now I get it. Maybe now that I trust this knowledge I'll do better. I also think Lizards are good, but ultra light and top water. I have seen a few lizards fall off a tree and immediately get snatched up.. Great video.

  8. I'm a florida native 52 years I've been chasing giants and getting em. Everything u said was dead right. I'd say when the cold snaps kill everyone else I've found don't be afraid to go catch some 10" native golden shiners on a hair hook and toss em out deep to find out what actually lives there.

  9. Moved down to Florida after growing up in the north. Loved trout fishing up north, but god damn I have been sucking at bass fishing so far 🤣. Thank you so much.

  10. i’ll be moving to florida in a year or 2 i was woundering if it’s worth getting a small boat for fresh water fishing or is there a lot of land spots to fish from??

  11. You Guys need to go to lake Champlain smallmouth fishing. I fish Each 3 times a year and Florida’s fish are bigger but fight nothing like a 4 or 5 pound smallmouth.
