What Big Bass Actually Want (Mid-Strolling)
Getting lots of bites… but only small bass?
In this video, I show how to pull out bigger bass from pressured water using a Japanese technique: mid-strolling. This approach sits perfectly between aggressive moving baits and subtle finesse, making it ideal when big bass ignore your lure.
I’m using the JACKALL Drift Fry, designed by Bassmaster Elite pro Koya Fujita. Its small lip creates a natural rolling action while keeping the bait in a tight range — key for triggering bites from hesitant fish.
One critical detail is rigging it perfectly straight. Even a slight misalignment can kill the action.
If you’re catching numbers but struggling to get quality bites, this is a simple and practical method you can apply right away.
