We Thought the River Was Ready… So We Went Fishing
The Colorado River through Central Texas is finally starting to look good again.
After months of less-than-ideal water clarity, I spent some time scouting different sections of the river below Austin to see how things were shaping up. The water looked better than I expected, so the next morning Gibson and I put the boat in early to see if the fish agreed.
We found some fish, missed a few good ones, caught a nice Guadalupe bass and a solid largemouth—and had a pretty good morning on the river.
If you live around Austin and haven’t spent much time exploring the Colorado River, you’re missing out. It’s an incredible fishery right in our backyard.
