I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. Great casting, but when you think you are fishing slow this time of year in Texas, slow it down some more.

I love it- you took the time to extract a snagged Whopper Plopper from the bush- my kinda guy. In my youth, I spent alot of time up in trees getting other people's lost lures out to add to my box.

Swim jig casting was surgical. Amazing.
I'm not sure how Chris smacked'em, but if i was, I guess it was with a jack hammer up shallow slow rolling the bait

Your voice in the wrap-up didn't sound too good. Lot's of nasty bugs going around. Take care of yourself and we'll see you at Paris Landing in March. Hopefully the weather and conditions will be improved!
Also I make my own Chatterbaits using a Berkley Skipping Jigs attaching the blade to the jig with a split ring and a Hog Farmer Spunk Shad trailer…..this bait has a weed guard so you can skip it just about through anything…. Plus it's a lot more erratic of an action than a jackhammer…… It has a very good hunting action and catches more fish than jackhammer
Why not throw a chatterbait or spinner bait with the stain of the water.
Hey Matt do you ever use a stinger hook on your chatterbait ? For me this time of the year when the weather is constantly changing the fish seem to be hitting short a lot….. So I use a small stinger hook and it usually gets them

Hey Matt, in hindsight that 3-4lb that missed the swim jig. Do you think that fish was re-catchable if you stopped at threw a couple different baits at it? Just curious your thoughts for when that happens to me.
