We Had to Figure This Lake Out! | East Crooked Lake
First time fishing East Crooked Lake, and it definitely took us a little while to figure them out!
I hit the water with Rich from Tricky Dick Fishing around 7:45 AM under some heavy cloud cover. We started by scouting the shallower water, but there just wasn’t much happening. Once we moved out and started working the drop-offs and weed beds, things changed.
I ended up catching 3 pike and several largemouth bass, with my biggest bass going 2.2 lbs. Every one of my fish came on a Roboworm Aaron’s Magic on the drop shot. I also gave the OSP Saikoro Dice in Fred’s Candy a shot, but the Dice wasn’t getting it done for me this time.
Rich had a good day too, landing 3–4 pike and several bass, including a 2.4-lb largemouth, throwing a yellow chatterbait.
About two hours into the trip, the clouds finally broke and we ended up with a beautiful sunny day on the water. Not a day of giants, but for my first trip to East Crooked Lake, we learned a lot, found some fish, and had a good time figuring out a new lake.
