If you slow down to 1X reel speed you’ll have better luck with them catching up to your lure before it gets right back to you

You should definitely go for a diamond channel cat. I heard they are insanely hard to fish for.

I think that if you want to translate the length from 1/100 of a yard to inches just multiply the length of the fish by 36".
Your Diamond bass 0.70 of a yard; .70 x 36" = 25.2".
