Water temperature is the number one pattern condition in catching big bass in the winter. Here in Florida the big bass react to cold water conditions far more than any other part of the Country. The big monster Florida bass from 6-14 pounds really bite good in the winter but not every day! Let me explain my recommendations for coming to Florida in the winter!

Hey Roland this is Dave I was born and raised in Florida fish both fresh and salt water with my father my whole life until he passed away and I still fit for my boys I have three boys have eight grandkids one of them is a boy he loves to fish and to my granddaughters two of them love the fish we still get it done but watching your videos has helped a whole lot as far as finding more fish and having more fun thanks a lot for your videos they are very educational keep up the great work as you always have I remember watching you when I was a little on Saturdays with all the other guys but youโre the best someday I would like to book a trip with you and go fission with you me and my youngest son Jeff
He'd probably teach fairly well, if he didn't talk about himself so much… Hard to hang an ear on someone who continually mentions himself.
You mentioned Venturi between islands. Do you recommend fishing upwind or downwind from island or Venturi
Great information. I would love to have a winter to fish in Florida!!๐บ๐ธ
you are so right on the weather/cold fronts. the problem is with long range forecasts.. they are rarely if ever right! you almost have to wait until its 24-36 hours before the days you want to fish to get an accurate forecast unfortunately.. ๐
The weather here in Texas has been cloudy with highs near 80 for the last week. Went fishing on Tues and Wed not a single bite. Cloudy and warm today (Jan 1), cold front coming in tonight with low in the high 20's and high tomorrow 35 deg. Went fishing today and I tore their ass up big time. Caught 18 of em. Had 7 fish over 3 lbs. 1 fish a lil over 4 and 1 fish of 6.19. All the rest were small. I dont know if the weather had anything with fish biting or not, but Im glad I went out. Best Bass fishing day Ive had in a long time.
So much information in a short time. All great stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Roland, there is so much great information in this video. I'm 70 years old and I'm blown away how much I learn from every video you do. You explain everything so well and I can see what a great teacher you were and still are. Can you do a video on how to set up and use a reloading press? ๐ฃ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ
Roland i hope you have a great New Year we love and appreciate you Jimmy and Bill putting out content for us. God Bless stay safe
Thank you Roland. A wealth of good teaching in this video. You got about 3 or more chapters for a new book, Lol, The Lord bless you sir.
I've been fishing for over 50 years and I just got smarter watching this 15 minute video. I've talked to Roland a few times in the past several months and learned something every single time.
Glad you showed the infrared thermometer. I've used it for water temperature while fishing, checking heat and air registers in my house, temperature of an engine, it has all kinds of uses. No doubt water temps is very very important bass fishing. Great video Roland!
The greatest BassSlayer ever son still doing it son, ๐
Another great video. I love all the information you teach us. Thanks and Happy New Year!
Great video, packed with information. Going to use this information for fishing in AZ.
Mr. Martin
You should talk to the publishing company and make a digital copy of the book for the new generation. ROI should be higher because of the printing cost. I love a physical book, but I understand the generation coming up is all about digital copies. Just a thought that I wanted to share. Huge fan and thanks for teaching us so much ๐๐ผ
So right on water temp I fish in Florida salt springs the mouth 2 weeks ago fish schooling caught 50 lbs of bass 5 and 6 pounders in a hour water temp makes all the difference thanks
The worst day fishing is better then the best day at work.
It's Roland mcClendon waiting to see your new grizzly tracker boat I'm going to get one to
Did you have to calibrate the IR thermometer for the emissivity of water?
Thank you again for sharing your fishing know how with us today sir. And God bless you and your family sir…..๐โค๐โค๐๐๐๐
Excellent info Roland! Thank you so much! Iโve been fishing for years but always learn something new with your guidance. Youโre the greatest bass teacher! Letโs go to Headwaters! Any great tips for fishing the A1?
Absolutely the GOAT of Bass fishing! I'm quite sure no one knows it better. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I've been watching you on TV and now Youtube for the last 40 years! I'm taking my 15 year old son to the Headwaters this weekend to fish shiners for the first time (been wanting to do this for 30 years) Now that I live in Florida again I'm going to finally get to do it. We have been watching your videos and we're going to follow your method to a T and catch out own bait with our cast net. I sure hope to run into you out there someday Roland!
