I'm by no means a whisper fisherman, but I don't remember ever breaking fishing line reeling in a big fish….always from snags. keep a loose drag and take your sweet time playing out the big fish and let it run when it wants to. Good video
Hey love these videos. But one thing you didn't cover was castability between them.
Another great tip! Appreciate the content! Thanks for sharing!
Refraction rate is only good for 10 pound and under
I disagree on the abrasion please watch salt strongs videos and independent test results
I challenge you to make an abrasion test video of your own
I’ve done it myself
Test equal diameter mono and flouro across an abrasive surface
I challenge you to do this
Awesome video especially for a beginner!! Thanks for explaining the differences and the pros & cons of each type!! 😎 Stay Safe & God Bless!!! 🤠👍
Loving these tip videos bro, keep them coming bro. I learn something each time.
If braid is the least abrasion resistant, why do we use it for heavy cover situations? Like when throwing a frog?
I use trilene up until ten pound line. If I fish with a drop shot I use a fluorocarbon leader.
For big fish like catfish and carp I use 40-50 pound Power Pro.
For musky I use 80 pound Power Pro with a nice leader
Copoly is definitely best bang for your buck imho . Just not a fan of straight fluorocarbon, braid has its place. Can’t beat it for frogs and punching mats
Good stuff, but I believe its a myth that fluoro is more abrasion resistant than mono.
I like p line works very well 👍🎣🐟
Great information thank you
I have a mix of all but floro. I wasn't aware of the lack of impact resistance and kept breaking off and never went back. Been fishing Berkley Trilene, Power Pro after leaving Fireline, and McCoy's copolymer line. Sadly when Cabela's was bought by Bass Pro the Cabela's house brand copolymer went away. Love braided line for topwater and grass fishing. McCoy's line is typically for jig fishing smallies in the rocks.
I used Berkley mono all my life till two years ago when I changed to Sufix siege mono 10lbs and 14lbs. I used cheap Braid once and I hated it when it came apart just above the knot
I would also add that braid's lack of memory and twist is a great advantage as a mainline on spinning reels.
Beer!
I've heard that mono is better to learn on than flouro for casting. Didn't know if that's true or not.
