With all the different crank baits on the market it’s hard to pick just one. This one bait has caught more fish then any other crankbait and it is the best bait to start with. The Series 5 will catch you more fish around the country than any other crankbait and here is why.

Agreed that more expensive doesn't necessarily mean a better bait. That said, one thing I've noticed is more consistency bait to bait with a select few more expensive baits (OSP, Megabass, Evergreen, Duo and few others mostly Japanese brands). So even though each bait is more expensive, in a way it really isn't. Say I buy 5 Strike King cranks, 1-3 of them of them are going to run good-great (I don't mean a tuning issue, I mean the way it wobbles, wiggles, rolls, deflects, start back up after a pause or intentional blowout, hunts, etc). The other 2-4 of those 5 may as well go in the trash, in the "I will see what I can modify on it later" bin or for some maybe save them for one of those days when anything will get bit. Whereas if I buy 3 OSP cranks everyone of them is going to do the exact same thing. So, in a way it really isn't more or less expensive. Not saying every manufacturer's expensive bait will run good, but the really good ones will. Make sense?
Of of all the Strike King cranks, the series 4 is probably the most underrated. If they're on a wiggle wart/rock crawler bite, the 4 will hammer them.
Great bait! I have 8 in my box and is mostly my go to bait in cranks.
The Deep Little N was this bait before Strike King
Series 5 has caught more doubles than all other crankbaits combined for me. For some reason it works really well throwing into schooling fish.
Todd, can you please be more specific when you recommend Owner STX hooks? There are at least 3 strengths of those treble hooks.
That bait has been one of my favorites for so long. Series 4 also
$3.99 all day on fat free shad and flat a. Can’t beat that and comes with good hooks.
You ever get into wooden baits? I hear you about cheap squarebills still catching fish, but I do shell out the extra dough for balsa plugs sometimes. I just think its something different from the last guy who went down the bank.
What in the hell happened to you on Tablerock Toyota tournament, I was trying to follow you and you just 0000, ?? Take care brother
Love these type of videos Todd. Please do a 1 rod challenge! Saw the video where you were throwing a 5xd and changed to a series 5 over grass. Good juice!
I made more money on the Harris Chain of lakes in the early 2000's with that bait than I'd care to admit. Straight money right there 💯
Great video Todd… love this approach to your topics. Much better content than solely catching fish for 20 minutes.
I throw the series 5 on tenkiller and it catches them. Bandit used to make a crank that is almost the same as the series 5
Seriously nothing more satisfying than watching boat after boat go by on the bank while you’re out in 8’-12’ just railing on them 😂
The series 5 is without a doubt one of the best crankbaits to ever exist… I have no clue why but it will come through shallow brush piles and stump fields better then any crankbait I've ever thrown. Definitely a solid bait and I have a tackle box dedicated to them. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
Norman deep little N for me. Been throwing it for 30+ years and I've always got one tied on. Still throwing same color/ colors and they still catch fish. Rivers, lakes, summer, winter, spring, or fall it's my absolute confidence crank.
I have always seed to do better with silent cranks baits, of any size/depth range. Regardless of water clarity. Maybe that's because I throw them that much more? Any thoughts on rattling or silent cranks??
Thanks.
Great video Todd! Thanks!
