What is going on everyone? In this episode of Dersch I go to a stocked trout pond in hopes to catch a biggin. Spoiler Alert: I dont land but i might have gotten bit. Which given the conditions is good enough for me.

  1. You have to leave the jerkbaits, and drop shots at home. It's about commitment. I live by Mt Monadnock and Throw Swimbaits around 90% of the time. Also, I have the Dobyns 795, and 806, and think they're a little soft for big jig hooked Swimbaits. I've caught a few big fish on 8 inch Hudds, Real Preys, and Burritos around the Lake Monomaniac area. I like throwing big wakebaits better though, especially after dark.

  2. With big soft swim baits you really want to let them eat it for a few seconds before laying the hammer down on them. Soft baits are incredibly realistic and fish will hold on to them for a while.

  3. Dude you make some sweet content, should look up a lanciotti psycho gill and try to get one to do a video on. Hard to come by but they get put up on his fb page or swimbait underground page on FB

  4. Hey Dersch, really enjoy your videos. I work with a local bait maker and I wanted to know if you would like me to send you a true winter classic that catches fish all year and is a tried and true winter bait. Comment back and we'll figure out the logistics if you are interested.

  5. Nice DD! I need to do that! I'll be getting my trout bait swim bait out and give it a try! Swimbait rod will be here tomorrow! Trying the daiwa tatula 300 w a okuma xxh 5 to 14 oz. 7 ft 11.

  6. Love the video I have been doing the same thing but with a 8” Magdraft and Storm Arashi swimmer not the glide. I have the power handle and felt weird at first but like it now and my 300 tranx will launch that shit.
Im glad you only brought one rod cause even if you don’t catch one the suspense is awesome, like waiting for jaws to smash it. I would definitely go back there. I used to fish a trout stocked pond back in Colorado with a trout swimbait and it can get stupid !
    Thanks man
