In this video I will explain how the weather affects every aspect of bass fishing. We will go over wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, rain, snow, cloud cover, and moon phases. I will also give some tips on how to read a weather chart and which details to pay attention to throughout the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Class is in session so take notes and you will be well on your way to becoming a better angler!

Great job very helpful and informative
very instructive Kudos bro
This is one of the most important videos a fisherman can watch
Awesome Intel my friend. Should charge for classes. Only one I find that has the knowledge I have. Doug Hannon never taught in this way. Remember the Spoon Plugs?
Thanks so much for the video. Love the continuing 5 acre pond series and ended up watching this way later than I should have in my fishing career. Maybe you’re knowledgeable on this or not but do you think your info is different fishing rivers versus lakes or ponds? Great information and it’s appreciated.
What weather app is being used in this video?
Best video about barometric pressure and fishing on YouTube! Thanks
Very insightful, thank you!
I always fish on the new moon
Well done. Solunar tables don’t mean much by themselves but when the weather is ideal combined with those 4 and 5 star days surrounding the full and new moons then those days can be epic fishing.
Have you done any videos on nighttime bass fishing? My personal favorite. There’s nothing like topwater froggin in summer at night when all is peaceful only to have all hell break loose when a nice bass viciously attacks your lure . Good times.
Does wind affect where fish move at all?
I have a young friend who lives in Ft. Worth and has recently taken up fishing. My question is in your opinion your advice the same for all fish species i.e. bass, crappie, catfish or does the weather affect different species differently?
So I live in Onslow County North Carolina and I've noticed the barometric pressure is always in 30.0 very rarely does it deep into the mid to high 20.0s ive also noriced alot of the fisheries I got to. Ill spot the bass coming up and taking in oxygen not popping off feeding but just come up taking in air and then going back down. Is it just that I was cursed with a bad fishing location or do I need to really pay attention and catch just the best days I can get to go. Without driving 2hrs to lake Sutton or lake Harris im limited to the 5 to 10 mile local bass ponds that are of only 70 to 100 acre and get fished year round which make the fish smart and very hard to catch. Most the time its a wacky rig doing the trick for numbers and my PBs were on a jerk bait and whopper plopped. I remember as a teen like 10 to 15 years ago I could throw a popR or buzz bait and catch a bass within 2 casts now its nearly died off. Either I need to move or find new fisheries. Sucks loving something so much that doesn't love you back ill tell you that.
Thank you so much for this video. This has shed so much light on what I was probably doing wrong last year. Last year was my first year beginning. I've been fishing before but really began getting more serious about it last year. Didn't have an awful year. Caught a descent amount of very quality fish. But the quantity was low. They don't have very many videos out about fishing conditions per weather patterns. Understanding contours, structure, etc. 1000s. 1000s of different videos for every single fishing lure on the market. But I'm willing to bet that this video is most informational and educational video on YouTube. You can have all the right equipment, be at the right place, but if your there at the wrong time all that other stuff isn't worth much. I'm sure there could be anomalies to where some guy says he caught 20- 50 nice bass when all that criteria showed that it wasn't a really good day to go out and fish. But Michael Jordan also dumped 60+ in a playoff game when he had the flue. Thanks again
What is the address of the weather website you were showing in this video?
This is the best video on YouTube keep it up
What weather website were you using in your demo ?
Great video. I'm getting back into fishing after taking years off and I need to brush up on my skills. This video reminds me of a story. Might be kinda long, but I'm at least forewarning everyone.
We were fishing in South Carolina (Lake Murray) for spring break back when I was in jr. high. Everything was perfect. It was the March full moon (which lead to a hilarious story about how my friend failed to set the hook properly on a big fat sow that was AT LEAST two and a half feet long…she jumped once, rolled over, and all we could see was that long white belly gleaming in the moonlight), there was a cold front on it's way but still a couple days out, and it was the spawn. Monday, fishing was okay. Tuesday, it picked up a little (My PB was on this day). Wednesday was the day before the storm hit. We were using Culprit worms in Red Shad during the day and Moccasin at night. You couldn't throw a hook without catching a fish. Most in the 1.5 to 2 lb. range, some up to 5lbs, my buddy did manage a 7.5 lb bass, and my biggest was 6.5. Every cast that Wednesday, worm hits the water, set the hook because it's already been taken.
Thursday the rain started. Heavy. We could have probably still fished in it but Science was always my best subject and I understood how lightning worked. The worst part? There was a bass tournament the next day. Those anglers were looking at the worst possible situation ever. We spent the last couple of days catching bluegills and burning gas in the boat, but it was still about the best time I ever had fishing.
Anyway, that's just my experience. I enjoyed the video. It was very informative.
Dude, I have been looking for this info for a year now…. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I am smarted angler now thanks to you.
I've followed a lot of this for over 4 decades. None of it is hard fast rules though. I've had successes throwing things that didn't match conditions. Never get stuck fishing a lure just because of wind sun, etc. Experiment and never stop. Don't get stuck or caught up on patterns, etc.
