Honestly, this video was inspired by a discount bin full of lures at a rest stop in NW Ontario. I found a handful of these Heddon Teeny Torpedoes at half price and couldn’t resist picking a few up.
It says ultra-light right on the package and I do have an UL rod so I figured why not give it a go! Glad I did! I had a free morning where the wind was absolutely dead. Perfect conditions for some top water bass fishing. The fishing was automatic, dozens upon dozens of fish take a shot at this lure and it had a surprising good hook up ratio despite not having much backbone in the rod.
I topped out at about 2 pounds, lots of juvenile bass, but the set up handled all sizes very well. I will have to try this again and maybe catch something in the four pound range. That would be an epic battle!
