Ultimate Sportsmanship & Class Act: Bass Pro Tour Angler Drew Gill

Drew Gill, Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour angler is a class act. Drew is the ultimate sportsman by leaving the MLF5 Invitationals and allowing other anglers the opportunity to compete at the highest level instead of him getting spot which he already has. Drew Gill is doing something that most angler won’t or couldn’t do and it’s exceptional at this level of angler.

  1. I’ve already been a fan of Drew Gill. He hangs out with Becker, and Matt Stefan. Those are my guys. 😂

It’s definitely awesome he did that.

  2. Can I make one critique of the video and other videos? I watch on occasions but it is extremely hard sometimes. There were somewhere around 68 cuts/splices/edits in a 4 minute video. Decided I would try and count today. We all are human and make mistakes, but I’d personally rather watch a few seconds or minute longer video in a take with the mistakes than all the splices. You have plenty of views, so maybe I’m the only one. Just my 2 cents

  3. I'm probably the only one who thinks this is a mistake, and I don't even really care for Drew Gill, these younger guys, and FFS that is allowing them to win. If they change FFS rules, then most of these guys are done for. But I'll tell you being nice doesn't account for the sport. It's like that QB that is ready to get the passing yardage record, and he says no, I'll just sit out the rest of the season because Joe Blow deserves to retain the record. He may never get another chance like this year, and he will regret what he does. He will be a distant memory of yeah that one guy that sat out and we never heard from him again.

  4. My question would be how do you know that was Drew’s intent? If you are correct about knowing that is a fact then I think that is very commendable. Maybe there are things in play here besides who ever that effects. It is definitely sounds like a heart warming story.

  5. I could be wrong but I believe he is a rookie on the BPT. So if he falls out of the top 10 in AOY this year on BPT he could get cut with the new rules this year. Is that correct? If so I really hope this doesn’t come back to haunt him. Seems like a great kid.

  6. I think Drew is crazy smart. He’s probably got another agenda aside from “giving a new guy a shot”. There’s a lot of benefits for a rising star like him with one less of the old guard taking top sponsor dollars, possibly even minimizes the amount of anti ffs noise coming in from guys who are gonna take up that spot if he double qualifies. He’s a chess player and he’s sharp as they come. Nice move Mr. Gill! 💪

  7. I met him at Redcrest. You forget he is only 21 or 22. He is a class act. I like to think it's his midwest upbringing. He could have been the youngest to reach a million in winnings. I cant wait to see where his career takes him. I appreciate you bringing this to light.
