Here are 2 simple but effective ways I modify my chatterbaits to catch MORE and BIGGER bass!

This is very different
Dude, how did you get chunky?
I know this is an old video, but I used the sharpy, let it dry and then put two coats of clear nail polish over it. So far, it's stayed perfect for probably around 40-50 hours of fishing. Yeah I went a lil overboard prepping it, but hey, it's working!
It's the split ring that's connected from blade to head of jig that's making it rise to the surface. Need to connect that blade straight to the eye of hook problem solved. Hate that splitring

Bending the blade doesn’t push the bait down in the water column..Way back before you were even around when Ron Davis designed the chatterbait he experimented with many Blade shapes..The bend in the blade is to help it deflect off of cover..Has nothing to do with keeping the bait from rising..lmao.

Been using for long now and never even thought to bend blade.. I put a cadence to it. Tag 6to 10 lber all day.. I'm going to try this bend. Thank you
I bent the tip of the chatterbait as you did in the video, my nutech was 3/8th oz and still rises to the surface. Trailer was a swimbait. Any other recommendations to keep it from rising to the surface?

Why would you color the blade like that!? You want the light reflecting off of it like a spinner blade as it wobbles. Seems like a waste of time imo
Those pliers are so cheaply made! Crazy how much they warped and bent when he tried to bed the blade. Instead paying for all the gizmos attached to them buy a pair of American made channel lock brand and you won’t have that issue any more.
What kinda rod do you use with chatter bait? Power? Action? Length?

Flair, just wanted to say love your videos and also thank you for the tips and tricks in your videos. I have been fishing for only a couple years now and when I had first started fishing I tried to use chatterbait and I absolutely hated it. Never caught anything on them and ect. After coming to your videos and seeing the catches you often get soly from chatterbaits I decided to give them a try again and I've been having fantastic luck at a lake near my home. I recently have moved out and I am use to fishing smaller lakes and mostly ponds. However the lake I moved to is a large lake in the south with essentially no vegetation and little structure and so all of my knowledge and practice was for a completely different style of fishing and I have been struggling much at this lake. However now with the use of chatterbaits I have been catching much more fish! And I know have confidence in chatterbaits and enjoy throwing them also. So again thank you for your videos they have helped me a ton!

i bought some chatter baits and I've fished 4 or 5 different spots and i haven't had a bite yet Idk if I'm doing something wrong i could really use some advice my pb bass is only like 2.5 and I really want to start catching some nice ones

Most Excellent tips sadly poorer than Joe Dirt DAV but got 6 g/kids that LuV 2 fish alot! So pass intel onto them and also use it myself. TY Alot like them pliers WoW'E handy ones

Wouldn't recommend the Sharpie method… sharpies, spray paints, nail polish, etc all have scent. I've caught a lot of bass on chatterbait just out of the package with a trailer. Also note, the z man chatterbait already comes with the bend in the blade. I personally stick with the z man because of the bend in the blade, and various color options. Stick with a swim bait trailer and match your colors
