MY PROFILE:
I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn’t have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. I have now fallen in love with making videos about fishing and delivering it to you. Follow along the journey…it should be an honest and fun ride!
The fish here used to spawn the 2nd week old March. It was clock work. There aren’t even perch on the bank yet. Hopefully they will move up in 2 weeks. They are a month behind with the weather.

Cloud is a killer at this time of year for most species. Sunlight is the ONLY way the water can warm up (outside of water used for cooling power stations etc) and a lot of people don't realise how quick water temps can fluctuate.
Fishing would be so much better at 171.5 ft. They pulled the plug and will not let the water come up. No water in the bushes sucks. Good luck TC.

A guide on Fork calls this weather the Texas 2 step and he also was saying the awesome of a week ago gone 100's of empty beds , they were occupied by males a week ago now nothing and they also had a lot of rain.
Yeah, sadly they take pride in killing a lot of fish and big ones. Those same guys usually kill over the limit of whatever they hunt for as well.

I eat my bass under 3 lbs. I do it for several reasons, clean, antibiotic free protein. I bodybuild and need X amount of protein per day. I rather eat organic especially if I can catch it while enjoying myself on the water. The trolls are one thing, but they only do it bc so many people cry and whine about it. I like how bass taste, especially grilled. So heres some honest feedback from a healthcare professional scrubbing in surgery every day, not white trash
Totally agree with you on the weather and water temp. Cold fronts just shut ‘em down on Toledo and Rayburn. I’m not surprised that the water is still in the low 60’s. Good luck!

In that tpwd share lunker program after they test and do all their stuff to the fish, do they let all of them go back in the lake it was caught or just release into lake athens right there at the fishery ?
