MY PROFILE:
I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn’t have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. I have now fallen in love with making videos about fishing and delivering it to you. Follow along the journey…it should be an honest and fun ride!
I heard u say the garmin was about to come off…. I had one do that and I found that duasafe makes a bracket that fits on a 126 that will keep it from, being able to come off…just wanted to tell u that
I had the same thoughts. I wonder if it was worth the possible damage to my boat and equipment. I was thinking was the possibility of sinking a bass boat was worth it.
Plane out the boat correctly and ride the tops….not ride the swells….
I just wanted to coment….im from the internet..im a boating bad ass…we run bigger waves bigger then that on the great lakes in a 10 foot jon boat with a 10hp tiller….😂
Come fish Lake Erie and you will not complain about those little waves you were running I’ve been caught in 8to 11 footers in a tournament and was white knuckled and praying to make it back
Weather sucked but it looks like you and Russell made the best of it. Best of luck day 3. Going to be tough catching Tatter but if anyone can put a 40 on the scales it's you.
This looks like a day that should have been postponed or canceled all together.
Good luck tomorrow
I fished this tourney as a co-angler and fell victim to a live scoper day 1. MLF should just do away with co anglers at this point. I was basically trolling all day with this kids trolling motor on high zig zagging around. I wish they had two divisions. One with scopers and one without
Dang near lost my stomach…I was starting to get sea sick 🤢…
I've fished this lake ever since I was a kid and my family has had a camp in Pirates for as long as I can remember. This lake gets ridiculous at times and the fact you have to stay in the boat lanes regardless of where the wind is coming from its just brutal at times…
Why do you even bother risking going out in these conditions? I mean this is just a fishing tournament. Why risk life or your boat? I just don’t get it
Dude, looks like a normal spring run on LOZ lol!
Used to fish Rayburn and T-Bend back in the 80s. you ran the boat lanes that everyone made running on T-bend because nothing was really marked back then.
It’s days like this, makes me happy I gave up tournaments 😂
I was riding co in a smaller metal vexus. Driver was good so I never got scared, but was definitely puckered up. We ran across to Texas side and then a ways north. Biggest waves I've been in personally. He wanted to run north of the bridge but laid up. For supposedly light and variable winds it was blowing its ass off out there.
You bass fishermen are such whimps. Walleye guys run in that every day. Go iron your fishing dress!
Man it was 20mph winds w gusts over 30 on conroe…
Been on Toledo and Rayburn when its like that, but like you said having to stick on a directional path on toledo forces you to eat em. Ive knocked off two transducers on separate occasions.
Good luck tomorrow! Love these little updates! Keep em comin!
In May a few years back i was fishing indian mounds and i waited too long to leave and a front came thru was not fun getting back to Cypress Bend. If i had waited it out in a cove it was over once i got my boat on the trailer…. lesson learned!
Them nerves keep ya safe!
Get yourself into Slaughter and ride out the weather. But then you have to worry about getting out of Slaughter.
That was some rough wind & waves, brutal! Hope you can catch a several 10lbrs tomorrow!
Seven mile an hour winds on TB are like 20 mph winds elsewhere.
It’s crazy when it’s like that. You can’t even get to plane, you just have to ride the bull and take your time. Tough work for no bites but that’s ok you’ll get them. Me, I would have stayed close by the launch or rode the trough to the other side.
Too bad you couldn't switch out to a Walleye boat 1 tournament per year!
Feels like im watching wavy boats youtube channel.
Gotta love the Bend! Got me some of those 4 footers in the bfl few weeks ago. Took a passenger console to the knees and ate 5 lane markers on way to San Miguel in the dark in 10mph wind. I thought we hit a flock of seagulls and I was covered in blood and guts until some of the pvc shrapnel hit me in the head not once, but twice! My boater knew how to drive thankfully though, minus the marker collisions. Roughest water I’ve been on to date besides Eufaula in Ok! The Bend gets bout it!
Running boat lanes really kill you when the wind is coming from the wrong direction. Every bolt on the boat will loosen up too.
Apparently you haven’t spent any time on the Great Lakes? What I wouldn’t give to have a nice smooth ride like that some days.
Looks like a summer weekend at Lake of the Ozarks
Hate having to run the boat lanes when the wind is coming out of the "wrong" direction. Was your graph "coming off" in any way related to the install?
Look like it's pretty sporty out there
Too bad all you can see is the sky🤷♂️
Bouncing like you are on a trampoline
Looks like some rough water.
