Day One recap of the first tournament for Touring Anglers Association on Lake Lanier. The Touring Anglers Association is new to professional bass fishing tournament series that offers almost 100 percent payback to the anglers participating. In this tournament there were 47 pros and amateur anglers putting in $5k each to win $80k to the winner. Many anglers like this format because of the no practice days and no forward facing sonar.

How come no rookie live scopers signed up??
We were on the northern end of the lake Monday afternoon fishing a school of spotted bass we found on Easter Sunday morning. We saw boats passing under the bridge with graphics so we knew a tournament was up coming. We live close to the lake and fish multiple times a week. Wish I could add some picture of the tanks we caught Easter and the Monday after work.

You consider this fair. I don’t think so. Fair would have been no local hammers. They should name this tour, “The Local Hammers Tout”.

I love the format with no FFS, I love lake Lanier as well. I don’t like the timing. You don’t need FFS to pull these big girls off the bed, and drive them 18 miles to a weigh in.
I tried to watch the weigh in yesterday but it was so boring I had to turn it off

I like the no prefish deal although I heard the next tournament will have an official prefish and also you can use a landing net if you want
Wonder if things change today with the big front that came through last night? I mean what professional non local angler is gonna wanna fish foreign waters when they limit all your tools and throw away 5k. Just so some local can go clean house. Kinda obvious imo of the low angler attendance. I been watching it today for a few hours on and off. I think it’s actually more exciting to watch with the ffs. We still are only seeing the back of his head and the wind is so terrible the guy I was watching has the mic off so not only is it boring and not catching any its dead silent.

Randy B said he'd like to but he could not justify the total cost. Gas is pricy so that may have made some folks say no.

More weights and catches logged in without using FFS then there are with it.
